Terms
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 13 July 2026 · The Juliva Space (SAS)
1. About these terms
These terms govern your booking of a weekend retreat or one day reset with The Juliva Space, whether it takes place in France or in Switzerland. By reserving a place you agree to them. They will be issued as formal CGV (conditions générales de vente) under French law.
2. Booking & payment
Your place is confirmed once we receive your deposit of 20% of the price. The remaining balance is due 14 days before the retreat. If you book fewer than 14 days before, the full price is due at the time of booking. Prices are quoted per person and charged in the local currency of the retreat destination (euros for our French retreats, Swiss francs for our Swiss retreats). The price varies by room type — a place in a shared twin room or a private room — as shown on each retreat page, and is all-inclusive of the items listed at the time of booking. See our Cancellation Policy for cancellation charges and refunds.
3. What's included
For a weekend retreat: return transfers between Geneva airport and the retreat property, two nights' accommodation at the selected villa or chalet, all meals and refreshments prepared by our private chef, daily yoga and meditation, a guided mountain hike, and a sound bath experience. Anything not listed (for example, additional treatments, personal travel insurance, and your flights or trains to Geneva) is not included. The activities included in a one day reset are confirmed for each event at the time of booking.
4. Health, fitness & your participation
Activities are gentle and optional. You are responsible for determining whether you are medically and physically fit to participate in retreat activities. You agree to complete our Health Disclosure & Consent form honestly, disclosing any medical condition, injury, allergy, dietary restriction or other circumstance that may reasonably affect your participation or safety, so we can support you safely — and to tell a host of anything relevant on the day. You may decline or modify any activity at any time. Participation is voluntary.
The Juliva Space provides wellness, lifestyle and recreational experiences only. We do not provide medical, psychological, therapeutic, nutritional or healthcare advice. Any information or guidance provided during a retreat is for general wellbeing purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
5. Assumption of risk
Participation in wellness, yoga, movement, hiking, outdoor and other retreat activities involves inherent risks, including the risk of illness, injury, falls, adverse weather conditions and other unforeseeable events. By participating, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume such risks to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in this clause excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
6. Responsibility and limitation of liability
We will exercise reasonable care and skill in organising and delivering our retreats. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. As a French-registered travel operator, we are responsible for the proper performance of the services in your package as required by the Code du tourisme; for retreats that take place in Switzerland, the equivalent local requirements also apply.
Subject to the foregoing, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- we exclude liability for indirect, consequential, special or incidental losses;
- we exclude liability for loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of enjoyment, reputational harm and business interruption;
- we are not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings;
- we are not responsible for disruption caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control; and
- our aggregate liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the relevant retreat.
7. Force majeure
We shall not be liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, severe weather, natural disasters, epidemics, pandemics, governmental action, transportation disruptions, labour disputes or utility failures.
8. Third-party suppliers
Certain services may be provided by independent third-party suppliers, such as chalet and villa owners, private chefs, drivers, sound bath practitioners and yoga instructors. While we take reasonable care in selecting such suppliers, we are not responsible for their acts or omissions except to the extent required by applicable mandatory law.
9. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for arriving at the agreed Geneva meeting point on time, for holding valid travel documents and (recommended) travel insurance, and for conducting yourself with respect for other guests, our team, suppliers and the retreat property. You must comply with all reasonable safety instructions provided by retreat hosts, activity providers and venue staff; failure to do so may result in exclusion from activities or from the retreat without refund. We may decline or end participation for behaviour that endangers or seriously disturbs others. You are responsible for any damage caused by your acts or omissions to retreat venues, accommodation, equipment or property belonging to The Juliva Space, other participants or third parties.
10. Personal property
Participants remain responsible for their personal possessions at all times. We accept no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings except where required by law.
11. Photography & media
Photographs and videos may be taken during retreats. Unless you notify us in writing before your retreat that you do not wish to be photographed or featured, we may use such material on our website and social media for promotional purposes. You may object to this at any time, including after your retreat, by emailing info@thejulivaspace.com. See our Privacy Notice for more detail.
12. Changes & cancellation
See our Cancellation & Travel Policy, which forms part of these terms.
13. Complaints & claims
Any complaint concerning a retreat should be raised with a host as soon as reasonably practicable during the retreat, to allow an opportunity for resolution. Claims must be notified to us in writing within 30 days of the end of the retreat.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Juliva Space from claims, losses and expenses arising from your breach of these terms or your negligent, unlawful or reckless conduct, except to the extent such claims, losses or expenses arise from our own negligence or breach.
15. Data protection
We handle your personal and health data as described in our Privacy Notice.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law, as the law of the country in which The Juliva Space is established. This does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply in your country of residence or, for retreats held in Switzerland, of Swiss rules that apply locally. We'll always try to resolve any concern with you directly and fairly first.
